Distance: 10km round-trip

Elevation gain: 380m

Time required: 3.5-4 hours

Cypress Falls is a waterfall in West Vancouver. I tacked Whyte Lake onto the hike to make it a more worthwhile adventure. Both are commonly done together. It is very easy, one that is nice to do with friends on a spring day (I've taken 3 different friends there).

The Cypress Falls parking lot is just off of Highway 1 before Horseshoe Bay. The trail follows Cypress Creek as you climb gradually to reach the waterfall.

The trail comes out onto a wide gravel road. You head west on this road and it turns into a fire access road before becoming Nelson Creek Trail. You then take the turn-off for Whyte Lake Trail which reaches the lake after 1km.

Whyte Lake

Whyte Lake is a small lake, popular for swimming and fishing. You can access it much quicker via Westport Road or via the Baden Powell trail.
