Distance: 22km round-trip

Elevation gain: 812m

Time required: 8.5-10 hours

Lynn Lake is a small alpine lake located in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park. While many people go out to see Norvan Falls, I find that not many venture beyond the falls to visit Lynn Lake which is a shame as it is a quiet, peaceful lake.

To get to Lynn Lake, one must first head towards Norvan Falls. I have a blog post dedicated to Norvan Falls here, so I will not discuss the trail in-depth. Once reaching Norvan Creek, instead of heading right to go towards the falls, you head left and cross over the suspension bridge.

The trail continues through the forest for about 1km before coming down to Lynn Creek and following the creek bed. The water levels were quite low and I was able to hop from rock to rock without getting wet. Other times I've done this trail, I've had to walk right through the water which can be quite refreshing. The total time of the hike will vary depending on how high the water levels are.

Once reaching a little waterfall, you take a right and climb up the rocks (there are faint markers but it can be easy to miss). The trail then heads back into the forest for the last 500m before reaching the lake. It took me 4 hours from the trailhead.

Caloscpha fulgens aka spring orange peel fungus. Inedible but pretty.

As I sat at the lake, I watched a group of pine siskins darting to and fro across the water. They make such an interesting zipper-like sound. I spent a long time listening to them. I hadn't seen a single person past Norvan Falls and I liked it that way. I loved having the little lake all to myself - it was so peaceful.

The journey back was quiet and uneventful. It took me under 4 hours.
